My journey in science has been very up and down. Some weeks none of my experiments will work and I have to go through a process of troubleshooting to find out what is going wrong. Sometimes whether an experiment works or not is very unpredictable and this can be frustrating. However, on other days an exciting experiment will give good results. These eureka moments make it all worth while!

I like that, ‘journey of science’, makes me feel quite important!

I’d have to echo what Sophie has said but perhaps with more despair and stuff not working than working ha 🙂

Negative results are still results though! It’s good to eliminate what doesn’t work.

While I’m not someone who have made super important findings, I have made some minor interesting finidngs and I think I have been successful in my journey of science so far. Generally speaking, “publication” is the currency in science and I have published quite a few papres, which helped me in getting a PhD without ever really doing one. And after 7 years of wanting to do bioinformatics, I finally landed a job in the field without having a degree in it!
